CORTICAL WINDOW RECONSTRUCTION WITH CEMENT AUGMENTED SCREW FIXATION AFTER INTRALESIONAL CURETTAGE OF LOW-GRADE CHONDROSARCOMAS: A SIMPLE METHOD WITH CLINICAL RESULTS

Purpose:
 
 Intralesional curettage with a local adjuvant is reliable surgical method in the treatment of low-grade chondrosarcomas (LGC). In order to maintain stability, some authors recommend osteosynthesis following intralesional treatment. However, larger materials may increase complications as well disturbing postoperative MRI evaluation. this study, we describe simple cortical window reconstruction cement-augmented screw fixation.
 Methods:
 22 patients LGC were enrolled retrospective study who underwent intervention between 2011-2021. All treated same manner by curettage, cement augmentation and fixation titanium screws embedded cement. The clinical outcome was assessed, using MSTS Score.
 Results:
 mean age at diagnosis 44,5 follow up duration 56,2 months. long dimension 4,8 cm for reconstructions one 6,2 two screws. showed excellent outcomes score percentage 91,3. We did not encounter any major postoperatively. On evaluations, image distortion due thin minimal bone interface clearly visible without disturbance.
 Conclusion:
 convenient use be good tool intramedullary tumours bones give potential chance obtaining better images disturbances
